Overview

The Exide IT500 150Ah is the most widely sold tubular battery in India — it's the baseline that every dealer stocks and every customer recognises. At ₹13,500–15,500, it sits in the mid-premium segment of the tubular category.

Tall tubular batteries are the right choice for most Indian homes because they handle deep discharge cycles far better than flat plate batteries. When you drain a tubular battery down to 50% or lower daily, it recovers fully — flat plates degrade much faster under the same conditions.

Real Performance

A 150Ah tubular battery stores approximately 1,800Wh of energy. At 80% depth of discharge (recommended), you have 1,440Wh usable.

What that means at home:

Add a fridge (150W running) and you're looking at 2.5–3 hours. This is the honest math most dealers don't tell customers upfront.

Maintenance Guide

  1. Water topping: Check monthly, top up with distilled water when plates are visible. Never use tap water.
  2. Terminal cleaning: Clean terminals every 6 months with baking soda solution to prevent corrosion.
  3. Equalisation charge: Every 3 months, let the battery charge at full current for 2 hours beyond normal — this balances cell voltages.
  4. Ventilation: Always install in a well-ventilated area — tubular batteries emit hydrogen during charging.

Dealer Notes

Exide batteries come with a detailed warranty card. As a dealer, register customer warranties online — it reduces dispute risk and gives Exide data to honour claims faster.
